A Lot of Creativity from "A Little Character.com"

I am loving these creative "characters" from ALittleCharacter.com where the artist creates everything from dragons, to gypsies, to (my personal favorite) pickle angels.  Here is a description of how these wonderfully creative characters were born....

...all handmade, UNIQUE, original items that are perfect gifts for people because you know not every one and their neighbor is going to have the same thing. These items make stand out gifts, not easily forgotten.
I make and sell everything from zombie magnets, superhero pickle ornaments, Sucrose kids (sugar high little critters), abandoned jack-o-lanterns and of course the occasional pink kitty. I make castle topped mountains with secret compartments, elegant angels and dragon ornaments too.

I am drawn towards clay as my medium but other bits and pieces always find their way into my sculptures. A bit of paper that cries out to be a jacket, a scrap of cardboard that wants to be a hat, a gorgeous blue glass bottle that turns out is actually a gypsy's body...just waiting to be finished. So I have accepted that I am actually a mixed media artist. If I can glue it, wire it, paint it, sand it or attach it to a clay sculpture in some way then chances are I'm going to do it. I like to think it gives a little more depth to a clay figure, a little more...dare I say it? Character! That's what I'm all about, making little characters that are fun or funky.

If they make me smile then I'm pleased and if they wind up in a good home, so much the better.
I have 15 years of hands on craft-ing and art-ing experience and 15 years of *practice* before that. Oh dear....I've just given my age away......

By Order of the Management

I was looking for some prints that would like the lengthy hallway between our bedrooms.   This set couldn't be any more perfect!  It is trendy...bright...and delightfully naggy!  =)

They were created by Artist John W Golden and can be purchased at his Etsy store.  (He also has some wonderful wildlife and doggy prints for your children's rooms(

Happy Salad

image

I went to a steak house tonight that had crayons and a paper tablecloth.  While eating a salad, I started scribbling a few pictures of some happy veggies.  By the end of dinner I had drawn happy carrots, happy tomatoes and even a cheerful cucumber.

You can order a happy tomato baby onesie or bib at my Cafe Press store. I'm still working on the remaining veggies in the series.  =)

Roots

Thankfully, my drawing pad is working again and it looks like I am still in tree-mode.  I had a stressful evening last night.  Two preschoolers...and a brand new puppy - need I say more?

Whenever my little ones are driving me crazy I am reminded of quickly "little" goes and how I need to appreciate every moment I have with them.  (Which was quite challenging as I was wiping the "snowballs" off of our patio doors).  "Look Mommy, we made snowballs with mud!"  Oh goody.

Hope you enjoy my, super-dooper cute,  stress-relieving tree.  I certainly did.

PS - I am heading out of town this week for a Young Lives camp. I will be living with 5 teenagers and 5 babies for 5 days.   More stress-busting art to come, I'm sure.  =)
